Summer Shapiro – Creator/Performer – Physical Actor & Comedienne

Summer Shapiro has written, performed and produced three original physical comedy shows, touring to San Francisco, Hawaii, Orlando and New York within the last two years.  Her most recent creation, Legs And All, was a three time award winner at the San Francisco Fringe Festival, received the “2009 Ticketholder Award” for Special Performance from LA Entertainment Today, was recognized as one of “2009’s Best of the Best in the Bay Area for Theater” by SF Bay Times and once it reached New York City had a sold out and extended run after being the 2010 “Festival Favorite Award” winner at NYC’s FRIGID New York Festival.  While an artist in residence at San Francisco’s Climate Theater she premiered her original solo show In The Boudoir sharing the bill with Cirque Du Soleil veteran, John Gilkey.  The show continued on to headline at the WOW Festival in 2009.  Summer’s show, PANTS! The Best Show Ever, sold out in the 2008 New York and San Francisco Clown Theater Festivals.  Summer has performed through the streets of Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador.  She has trained, performed and taught her craft in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York and Ireland and holds a B.A. in acting from UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television and has completed training at the Samuel Beckett School of Theater, Trinity College, Dublin and graduated from The Clown Conservatory in San Francisco, California.
